Your negotiation team met again today with SBMC management to discuss the bargaining issues at hand.

Our talks focused again around staffing issues and the need for nurse/patient ratios.  Our job as nurses is to be able to provide all our patient’s equal care at the bedside.  Discussions will continue on this issue.

Again today, we engaged in a lengthy discussion to tightening up the current lay-off language in your contract.  When we resume negotiations on Tuesday, this conversation will continue.

Today, management presented their economic proposal to NJNU.  In order to avoid confusion and misunderstandings by our members, we will present this information to you at our membership meeting.  It will be held at the NJNU office on Mt. Pleasant Ave in Livingston. 

There will be three meetings and the times are as follows: 8am-10am, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. It is imperative that you make every effort to attend one of these meeting times so that you can receive the correct information on economics as well as the non-economics.

The negotiation update meeting that was to be held in the 2300 Cardiac Conference Room on Monday, is canceled. Please pass this along to you co-workers.
